This year marks 120 years since the library first opened its doors. The library has consistently acted as a place of refuge and resource for the local community. Since then, the library has seen many changes both inside and outside the library walls but one thing has remained the same, the community has been at the heart of keeping the library open.
We’re excited to invite you to celebrate this momentous anniversary with us. Through activities and events we want to celebrate the library’s rich history, but we also want to continue to embed your voices into our future. As a community led library, who are no longer run by the council, we want to make sure the library reflects the wants and needs of our local community for the next 120 years.
