We have built up a team of over 50 volunteers with a fantastic range of experience, who are helping us in all sorts of ways but there are still so many more things we can do with your ideas and help.
We are looking for regular, committed volunteers to help run our friendly and welcoming Library – even if you can only manage one three-hour session a month, we’d love to hear from you.
We have many different roles and areas, please see below for a couple of examples:
- Be part of our team of friendly rota volunteers who manage the library and the support the public during opening hours. Helping in this area involves registering new users as well as issuing, returning, and renewing books.
Behind the scenes
- Our shelving and sorting team come in on a Thursday morning and spend time sorting and organising our stock whilst the Library is closed.
Are we currently looking for help in any specific areas?
- We are currently actively looking for volunteers that would be able to help on our Saturday afternoon shift (13:00pm-16:00pm). This is a customer facing role and would involve supporting the public with areas such as issuing, returning, and renewing books.
If you would like to be part of this amazing project – develop your skills, meet new people, take part in the ongoing discussion about how the Library should develop, and make a difference to your neighbourhood, please fill out your contact details below. The Library Development Worker will then get in touch with you to discuss how you might be able to help and the next steps if you decide you would like to join the team. We will hold all of your information securely.
